Code of Ethics for O/D consulting

At Positive Performance, our name defines our commitment: we exist to unlock the highest potential in people, teams, and organisations-ethically, sustainably, and systemically. As Organisation Development professionals, we hold ourselves accountable to the following principles, which guide every engagement, decision, and relationship.

1. Quality of Life

We believe performance is meaningful only when it enhances the overall quality of life.
We are committed to creating environments where individuals experience fulfilment, purpose, balance, and satisfaction—not just productivity. We measure success not only by results, but by the human experience behind those results.

2. Health, Human Potential, Empowerment, Growth, and Excellence

We believe every person and system holds untapped potential.
At Positive Performance, we:

  • Promote psychological, emotional, and organisational health.

  • Help individuals recognise and activate their full capabilities.

  • Empower people to take ownership of their growth.

  • Support continuous learning and development.

  • Pursue excellence as a sustainable practice-not as pressure, but as possibility.

We do not impose change; we facilitate awakening.

3. Freedom and Responsibility

We honor individual and collective autonomy.
We believe people are free to choose how they lead, contribute, and live-and responsible for the consequences of those choices.

In our work, we:

  • Support informed decision-making.

  • Encourage accountability at every level.

  • Avoid coercion, manipulation, or dependency.

  • Build capacity so systems can sustain change independently.

4. Justice and Fairness

We are committed to fairness in process, outcomes, and opportunity.
We advocate for systems in which decisions, rewards, and responsibilities are transparent and equitable.

We challenge practices that create unnecessary harm, exclusion, or inequity. We promote solutions that are right not just for a few, but for the whole.

5. Dignity, Integrity, and Fundamental Worth

Every individual and every human system deserves respect.

At Positive Performance, we:

  • Treat all people with dignity.

  • Protect confidentiality and trust.

  • Act with honesty and transparency.

  • Align our words and actions.

  • Respect the fundamental rights of individuals, organisations, communities, and societies.

Integrity is not situational—it is foundational.

6. All-Win Attitudes and Cooperation

We believe sustainable success is collective success.

We actively cultivate:

  • Collaboration over competition.

  • Partnership over hierarchy.

  • Solutions that benefit stakeholders at every level.

We reject zero-sum thinking and strive to design outcomes that work for individuals, teams, organisations, and the broader systems in which they operate.

7. Authenticity and Openness

Transformation requires truth.

We foster relationships built on:

  • Candor with care.

  • Constructive confrontation of real issues.

  • Transparency in intentions and methods.

  • Psychological safety for open dialogue.

We model the courage we invite in others.

8. Effectiveness, Efficiency, and Alignment

Positive Performance stands for results that matter.

We commit to:

  • Achieving meaningful outcomes.

  • Using resources responsibly.

  • Aligning individual purpose with team objectives.

  • Aligning organisational strategy with its broader ecosystem.

We view performance systemically—ensuring that improvements in one area do not create harm in another.

9. Holistic and Systemic Perspective

Human behaviour does not exist in isolation.

We approach every engagement through a whole-systems lens, recognising:

  • Interdependence across roles and functions.

  • The influence of culture, structure, and environment.

  • The broader social, economic, and community context.

We consider and honor the legitimate interests of all stakeholders when shaping change.

10. Wide Participation and Democratic Engagement

Sustainable change requires shared ownership.

We:

  • Encourage broad participation in decision-making.

  • Facilitate constructive dialogue across differences.

  • Support democratic processes where voices are heard.

  • Address conflicts directly and productively.

  • Equip systems to solve their own problems effectively.

Participation builds commitment; commitment sustains performance.

11. Courageous Realism

We are committed to helping people see reality clearly—and respond to it constructively.

At Positive Performance, we:

  • Encourage honest assessment of strengths and challenges.

  • Build the skills and fortitude needed to face difficult truths.

  • Replace avoidance with proactive action.

  • Support resilience in the face of complexity and change.

Optimism without honesty is illusion; performance without courage is fragile.

Our Commitment

As professionals of Positive Performance, we pledge to:

  • Continuously develop our competence.

  • Seek feedback and reflect on our impact.

  • Align our personal conduct with these values.

  • Place long-term systemic health above short-term gain.

  • Serve as ethical stewards of change.

Our ethics are not separate from our work-they are the foundation of it.

Positive Performance exists to elevate people, strengthen systems, and create results that are sustainable, responsible, and truly positive.
